Astir, the London residential developer, has successfully completed its £120m West Hampstead Central mixed-use scheme.

West Hampstead Central, is a development of 180 apartments of which 86 are affordable homes that were recently completed and handed over to A2 Dominion.

The development benefits from a hugely improved public realm and sits in the heart of West Hampstead village, on West End Lane, adjacent to the Underground, Thameslink and Overground stations. Of the 94 apartments for sale, just the last 5 are now available to purchase.

The scheme features a suite of purpose-built retail units on the ground floor, home to innovative supermarket Amazon Fresh, high-profile burger chain Five Guys, Italian Gelato retailer Amorino and independent coffee shop Buzz.

Meanwhile, Astir has also launched its Apex co-working space at West Hampstead Central. Apex offers nine dedicated offices, 40 hot desk seats, five phone/Zoom booths, cosy lounge and break out areas and a podcast room. This is the first of two phases. There are an additional 58 desks across 11 offices in phase 2 launching in May.

“We’re delighted to complete our maiden scheme in London,” said Nic Simpkin at Astir. “This project hasn’t been without its challenges; our construction contractor fell into insolvency mid-way through the build, but the experience, strength and ability of our team was illustrated in the way we pulled together to surmount this issue and produce such a high-quality finished product.”

“We’d like to thank our partners Gamuda Berhard and A2Dominion who have backed us throughout – we hope to continue our excellent relationship on future projects as we look to change the face of residential living in the capital.”

With more than 100 years of combined residential development experience having been involved in the delivery of many of the capital’s most notable large scale residential developments and regeneration schemes. Astir’s vision, “Making Living Better” underpins the delivery of high-quality homes in exceptional places across London.
